None of the Above
Nearly 1.5 million Coloradans voted in the primary — and nearly two-thirds of registered voters didn’t. Here is what the numbers actually add up to.

Just under 3 weeks ago, Colorado held its primaries for both the Democrat and Republican parties and only after almost 2 weeks was the election finally called for Victor Marx on the Republican side.
With approximately 52% of Colorado voters registered as unaffiliated voters, and nearly 1.5 million voters turning out to cast their ballot, something doesn’t seem to add up.
Lets talk about the numbers. Approximately 4.1 million voters are registered in Colorado, with the Democrats owning about 25% and the Republicans owning around 23%.
One of the big debates recently in Colorado is whether or not unaffiliated voters should be able to vote in either primary. In fact, if you are a registered unaffiliated, you will receive 2 ballots and asked to only return one with your choice of either “R” candidates or “D” candidates.
Now that the Colorado Primaries are behind us, the candidates have been decided, and the general election is ahead of us, Colorado politics is gearing up for an intense fight in the race for Governor.
With over 1.4 million votes cast in the primary, Colorado saw almost a half a million votes more than were cast in the primary election of two years ago. Or did it?
I won’t take the time to dig more into that anomaly. Maybe its just a coincidence or maybe Colorado voters really are tired of business as usual, but that number seems a little higher than should be expected when 2 years ago, there was a national election involved during a fight for election integrity nationwide.
Almost 6 years ago, another statistical anomaly happened when Joe Biden received more votes than any other presidential candidate in history. Over 81 million votes. Approximately 15 million votes more than the previous two elections for a democrat when Hillary Clinton lost in 2016 and Barrack Obama won in 2012.
All this while hiding out in his basement.
In fact, to see Joe Biden do a campaign rally in 2020 was about as rare as seeing Bigfoot out the back door of a Colorado Cabin while on a camping trip.
According the the Colorado Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, Colorado is the Gold standard for elections in America. In fact if you have followed anything politically in Colorado for the past 6 years, there has never been a safer time to cast your vote for your favorite candidate.
Nevermind that 52% of Colorado voters receive 2 ballots because they are registered as unaffiliated.
Nevermind that 100% of Colorado voters receive their ballot by mail approximately 3 weeks before election day.
Nevermind that 1.4 million records of approximately 4 million Colorado registered voters have errors with their registration.
Nevermind that ballots are being sent to corporations, illegal aliens and those who live in other states.
Nevermind that the passwords to the voting machines in Colorado were leaked and available to the public online for months.
But Colorado Elections are free. Are fair. Are the Gold standard.
For 8 months, Colorado voters were blasted with social media campaigns billboards, and yard signs by the gubernatorial candidates looking to earn your vote to be placed on the primary ballot and then the ballot for the general election.
Now that that the primary is over, the real fun begins.
In just under 4 months, we as Colorado voters get the opportunity to speak our minds by filling in the circle on the ballot, and tell those who are raising money, running all over the state and asking for our support, what we really think of them.
We have an opportunity to tell them what we really think.
Who is “them?”
You have three choices.
The Democrat, Phil Weiser, who has filed or joined in 65 lawsuits against president Trumps administration.
The Republican, Victor Marx, who has never been in politics, claims to have called military airstrikes as a civilian and cannot stand on his own two feet when asked what he will do specifically to help or save Colorado.
The Independent, Greg Lopez, who has been in and out of politics for over 30 years.
As a strong conservative, and one who has voted republican ever since I was old enough to vote, this year has given me an interesting challenge. Vote for the candidate who has a duffle bag full of skeletons in his closet, or vote for the career politician who has ran on the Democrat ticket, the Republican ticket, and now the Independent ticket.
Victor Marx has belittled those who have not agreed with him, ignored those who have questioned him, and is now begging those same people to sign a pledge of support.
He has paid family members incredible amounts of money as campaign consultants who have never been in politics, and until recently were not in support of him. Something doesn’t add up in the Marx camp.
Greg Lopez, who passes the test on the surface, appears to be a career politician looking for a job wherever he can find one.
If I had to choose today, I might choose Greg Lopez. A candidate who has stood up for election integrity when it wasn’t popular.
But lets talk about another option.
In the mid eighties, there was a movie remake that came out called Brewsters Millions. The movie, staring Richard Pryor, was about a washed up minor league baseball player who had just inherited a large sum of money from a distant uncle. In the movie, as a stipulation of the will, Pryor was given 2 options. Take $1 million now, or receive $300 million in 30 days as long as he could spend $30 million over those 30 days with no assets to show for it at the end, and not being able to tell anyone of the reward at the end.
Over the course of 30 days, he upset his closest friends while blowing through the money like it had no end. In the meantime, those close friends were doing everything they could to help him make money on different investments. At one point, desperate to find a way to spend money with nothing to show for it, he decided to run for mayor of New York City. Not because he wanted to win, but because he saw it as a way to blow money and have nothing to show for it.
As a side note, isn’t that a great metaphor as one candidate blew through over $2.5 million dollars in the primary this year?
Montgomery Brewster, Pryor’s character, ran on the platform, “Vote for None of the Above.”
His goal, the get the voters to vote for none of the candidates on the ballot as he thought all politicians were corrupt.
Here we are in 2026 and in my humble opinion, we are almost in the same position as a fictional comedy from 40 years ago.
If you followed the primary results on election night, June 30th, you may have observed the almost impossible, statistical anomaly of 40%, 40%, 20%. No matter where the votes came from, the percentages did not change. No matter the county. The percentages stayed the same.
In fact, within about 2 hours of the polls closing, 85% of the votes had been counted. It wasn’t until close to 90% of the votes had been counted, that the percentages began to change and the counting slowed down significantly.
This is when the Marx camp began to tell its supporters to pray. Pray for what? Pray that the ballots that had already been cast would be changed? Pray that the votes for the opposition would be lost? I’m still a little puzzled as to what they wanted their people to pray about. That’s besides the point though.
In the end, enough votes were “counted” for Victor Marx.
The results have rotten smell of interference. Just like in 2020 when the networks were beginning to point to a Trump victory, all of the sudden, the counting stopped or slowed, and the results took many more days to work themselves out.
To quote Joseph Stalin, in 1923, while when discussing the internal elections of the Communist Party with his secretary, “I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this, who will count the votes and how.”
Not a lot has changed in the last 100 years. The people have been given many ways to vote, and ultimately, the establishment counts the votes.
So here is my predicament. We can quote Donald Trump when he frequently used the slogan, “Too big to rig,” during his 2024 campaign, but will that really win if nothing has been done to clean up the voter rolls? Nothing has been done to rid the state of the voting machines? Nothing has been done to eliminate those who have paid to play form the political landscape?
“Too big to rig,” in 2020 gave Donald Trump almost 10 million more votes than have ever been recorded for any candidate, in any election, ever. Only to have Joe Biden receive almost 6 million more votes.
In 2024, the numbers receded quite significantly, back to semi normal numbers.
I find it very difficult to believe that with nothing having changed in the way we do elections in Colorado, that the result will be different.
Those in power, will put in power the one who they want in power.
To think that the result will be different when nothing has changed is beyond comprehension.
Maybe its time to consider a vote for “NONE OF THE ABOVE.”
